My son has hemimegalencephaly and had brain surgery when he was 17 months old. My husband and I have chosen to rejoice in the little things rather than focus on the big things. When our son first said he loved us, it was a big thing, but something that so many other parents take for granted. I will be blogging about my experience as a mom of a special needs child, as well as our other two children, homeschooling, and the funny things that happen from day to day.

- I'm a Christian, stay at home mom to three kids. K is 6, S is 4, and T-bob is 8 months. S was born with a very rare brain abnormality called hemimegalencephaly. It affects the right side of his brain and causes seizures and developmental delay. This blog is my way of keeping our family in touch with what is happening at our house, as well as discussing what it is like parenting a child with special needs. I'm intensely interested in how the entire family can be affected and how they learn to cope.
